HRostrum is delighted to share that Akshay Rakshit has been appointed as Head – Talent Acquisition & Strategy at Hyundai Motor India Ltd., marking a significant milestone in his journey as a dynamic HR and people leader.
In his new role, Akshay will lead Hyundai’s national talent acquisition and workforce strategy, focusing on strategic hiring, employer branding, early careers programs, and HR transformation. His mandate also includes policy innovation, leadership pipeline development, and creating agile, future-ready talent frameworks that align with Hyundai’s growth and people-first philosophy.
With over a decade of rich HR experience across iconic automotive brands such as Exide Industries, Honda Cars, Maruti Suzuki, and BMW Group India, Akshay brings a deep understanding of industrial relations, workforce planning, and people strategy. Prior to joining Hyundai, he served as HR Business Partner at BMW Group India, where he drove HR strategy, talent development, expatriate management, and culture-building initiatives for the National Sales Company.
A proud alumnus of XISS Ranchi and an Executive Development Program graduate from XLRI Jamshedpur, Akshay’s career reflects a blend of ground-level industrial experience and strategic HR vision. His journey from shopfloor HR at Exide to leading national talent strategy at Hyundai stands as a testament to his versatility and leadership depth.
Beyond work, Akshay is a pro bono speaker, HR mentor, and advisor to industry councils, known for his clarity, humility, and “people-first with purpose” approach.
