Citi Appoints Maneesh Menda as Global Head of HR Delivery

HRostrum NewsDesk | Sept 2025

In a strategic move underscoring the growing significance of HR operations and global workforce alignment, Citi has appointed Maneesh Menda as its new Global Head of HR Delivery. The announcement, confirmed on September 5, 2025, positions Menda at the helm of Citi’s global HR execution framework—spanning operations, shared services, and people delivery systems.

With over three decades of experience across human resources, finance, audit, and operations, Menda has built a reputation as a transformative HR leader in global financial services. Prior to Citi, he spent a decade at NatWest Group, most recently as Head of HR for International Hubs, where he partnered with leaders across India and Poland to drive the strategic people agenda. Earlier, he served as Head of HR for NatWest India, working closely with business leaders on talent strategy and transformation, and as Senior HR Business Partner for operations, shared services, and support functions. Before his NatWest tenure, Menda had a long and impactful career with Standard Chartered Bank, where he rose through several senior global roles—including Global Head of Performance, Reward & Benefit Operations, overseeing HR delivery across ~60 countries and 90,000 colleagues, and Head of Performance, Reward & Benefit Delivery for Africa, managing people practices across 15 countries. His career journey, beginning as a Chartered Accountant, reflects a rare blend of HR acumen with financial, operational, and risk management expertise.

Role and Responsibilities

Maneesh Menda’s track record of driving HR transformation across complex global organizations makes him an ideal choice to lead Citi’s HR Delivery at a time when efficiency, agility, and employee experience are at the forefront of business priorities.

As Global Head of HR Delivery, Menda will be responsible for:

  • Driving HR service delivery excellence across Citi’s global footprint.
  • Leading digitization and automation in HR operations.
  • Aligning global HR frameworks with local and regional strategies.
  • Strengthening employee experience through integrated people solutions.

Menda’s global appointment comes at a time when Citi has also strengthened its HR leadership in India. Tooba Modassir was recently named CHRO for India and the Indian Subcontinent, responsible for regional strategy and advisory.

Team HRostrum extends heartfelt congratulations to Maneesh Menda on his appointment as Global Head of HR Delivery at Citi. Your remarkable journey from leading HR transformation at NatWest Group and Standard Chartered Bank to now steering global HR delivery at Citi is truly inspiring. We wish you continued success in driving people-centric innovation, operational excellence, and shaping the future of HR on a global stage.

✨ Best wishes on this new chapter!
