HRostrum is pleased to spotlight a significant leadership movement in the global HR and technology ecosystem. Aru Uppal has taken charge as Head – Global People Strategy at Intangles, marking a new chapter in a career shaped by large-scale transformation, global workforce strategy, and future-focused people leadership. This transition marks a significant milestone in her professional journey and aligns seamlessly with Intangles’ vision of building intelligent, high-impact global products powered by strong, future-ready people systems.
With over a decade and a half of experience across technology, logistics automation, consulting, and global product organizations, Aru Uppal brings with her a rare blend of strategic depth, global exposure, and execution excellence. Her journey has consistently reflected an ability to scale people strategy across regions while retaining a strong human core.
One of the most defining phases of her career has been her leadership across global HR portfolios at Data Dynamics, where she played a pivotal role in shaping people strategy across North America, EMEA, and India. Operating across culturally and operationally diverse markets, she was instrumental in strengthening talent pipelines, driving performance frameworks, and aligning workforce strategy with aggressive global growth ambitions. This role firmly established her as a global HR leader with strong business acumen.
Prior to this, her impact at Vanderlande (APAC)—a global leader in logistics automation—placed her at the heart of complex, engineering-driven operations where talent precision, leadership capability, and workforce scalability were non-negotiable. Here, she worked closely with business leaders to align people strategy with high-stakes, innovation-driven delivery environments.
Another important chapter in her journey was at ZS Associates, where she contributed to large-scale HR consulting, rewards strategy, policy frameworks, and people transformation programs. This phase refined her ability to blend structured HR design with dynamic business change, a strength that continues to define her leadership style.
Across these environments, Aru has built a reputation for driving future-ready HR systems, high-performance workplace cultures, and inclusive leadership frameworks. She is particularly known for her strong advocacy for psychological safety, ethical HR practices, and women in leadership—areas where she has not only implemented frameworks but also personally led from the front.
In her new role at Intangles, Aru will be steering the global people agenda at a time when the company is strengthening its international presence and scaling its deep-tech capabilities. Her mandate spans global workforce strategy, leadership capability building, culture design, employee experience, and AI-powered people systems—areas that are increasingly central to how product companies compete on the global stage.
What makes this appointment especially significant is the alignment between Intangles’ technology-first DNA and Aru’s belief in data-driven, AI-integrated HR transformation. Her approach consistently blends human insight with analytical intelligence, enabling organizations to not only scale faster but also build more resilient, engaged, and future-ready workforces.
From early roles in structured HR operations to leading complex multi-country people strategies, her journey reflects the evolution of modern HR itself—from support function to strategic growth engine. Today, as businesses navigate skills disruption, global talent shortages, and AI-led transformation, leaders like Aru represent the new face of people leadership—strategic, digital, inclusive, and deeply business-aligned.
HROstrum congratulates Aru Uppal on this new role and wishes her continued success in shaping the future of global people strategy.
